PURPOSE: To decide whether shape exists or not by using the distribution of the blur of an image caused by the shape and the tolerance limit value of specified shape and to record the information of the presence or absence of the shape so that the information of the shape can be offered to a photographer in order to prevent the shape.

CONSTITUTION: An image pickup part 11 picks up the image of an object, and an interexposure signal outputting part 12 outputs a signal expressing that exposure is being performed. A shape detecting part 13 detects vibration caused by the shape of a photographing device. As to the outputted signal from the outputting part 12; a shape evaluating part 14 calculates and evaluates the distribution amount of the blur of the image caused by the shape. A tolerance limit value storing part 15 stores information about the allowable maximum size of the shape on an image plane, and a shape judging part 16 judges whether the shape is included in an object image recorded at the image pickup part 11 or not based on the signals from the shape evaluating part 14 and the shape tolerance limit value storing part 15. A shape recording part 17 records a discriminating signal discriminating whether the shape of the object image exists or not on a recording medium 18 based on the signal from the shape judging part 16.
