To provide a photographing device provided with a flash light adjustment function which speeds up flash synchronization speed by using an electronic shutter of an image sensor, and efficiently uses flash emitting energy.

The photographing device has: an image sensor 107 which stores a light current corresponding to the amount of received light and outputs image signals corresponding to the stored light current, an external flash 200 which illuminates an object by emitting flash light; and a non-volatile memory 202 which stores emitting light waveform information indicating the relationship between light emitting time and the amount of light emission of the external flash 200. The photographing device calculates the amount of received light of the image sensor 107 when the external flash 200 emits flash light based on the emitting light waveform information, and starts the storage of light current of the image sensor 107 at the most appropriate timing.
