Abstract:

To prevent or reduce the scraping-out of surplus ink onto a projecting part due to bending of the free end of a doctor, without damaging the surface of a photogravure plate.

The photogravure plate has a doctor supporting part which is provided in a recess of a plate surface and has a top part inside the plate surface not being higher than the projecting part. The doctor supporting part supports the free end of the doctor while the doctor scrapes off the ink.
