Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable a magnetic field (electric field) to be highly accurately measured by reducing adverse effect of a high frequency noise.

CONSTITUTION: As the light source 20, a light source emitting naturally released light subjected to an induction gain. To be more specific, the light source 20 herein used is so arranged to emit light with a coherence length in a range of 10μm-100μm and with a spreading angle in a range of 15°-50°. A polarization maintaining fiber is used as optical fiber 30 for transmission to couple the light source 20 and a sensor section 40 optically. A multi-mode fiber is used as photoguide fibers 51 and 52 to guide modulation light emitted from the sensor section 40 to a measuring section 60.
