Abstract:
To provide a photopolymerizable liquid crystal composition and an optical compensation element using the composition, wherein the composition has, as the properties regarding the photopolymerizable liquid crystal before curing, a nematic phase at room temperature, a wide nematic phase range, good orientation properties, and rapid curing properties with UV irradiation in the air atmosphere, and as the properties after curing, good adhesion to a support, sufficient heat resistance and humidity resistance, suitable Δn, and transparency.
This liquid crystal composition comprise a compound having an oxiranyl as a first component, and a compound having an oxetanyl as a second component.
