PURPOSE: To improve the precision of horizontal signal detection by constituting a movable horizontal synchronizing signal detection mirror in a photoscanner, and adjusting the attachment angle of the detection mirror from outside an optical box.
CONSTITUTION: The height-directional position shift of an optical axis is corrected when a component in the photoscanner, e.g. a semiconductor laser as a light source or driving motor is replaced. Namely, an adjusting screw 54 is moved axially by being turned to rotate and adjust the horizontal synchronizing signal detection mirror 14 around a support shaft 51 in a direction (r). Then, luminous flux 53' reflected by the detection mirror 14 is moved in a direction (h) and directed to the optimum center position of an optical fiber 15 fixed to the optical box 17. Thus, the deviation of the optical axis due to the replacement of the component is adjusted easily to isolate the components in the optical box from dust, etc., during the adjusting operation, so the precision of the horizontal synchronizing signal detection is improved.
