To provide a compound which has excellent water repellency, can change the physical properties of surfaces with wavelength light of relative low energy, excellently changes water contact angles before and after irradiated with the light, and can form a high performance organic thin film, when an immersion time into substrates is short.

The compound represented by formula (I) [X is a functional group containing a heterogeneous atom; R1is a 4 to 11C alkyl which may have a substituent; R2is a 1 to 4C alkyl which may have a substituent; (m) is an integer of 0 to 4; (n) is an integer of 6 to 30; G1is a divalent 1 to 3C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group; Ar is an aromatic group which may have one or more substituents; G2is O or the like], and the organic thin film formed body on which an organic thin film is formed by coating the surface of a substrate with a solution containing the compound represented by formula (I).
