Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a photovoltaic element which is improved in light reflectivity and light trapping effect to be entranced in conversion efficiency, small in diffusion of metal atom, high in chemical resistance and reliability preventing an overcurrent even if pinholes are generated, and can be easily mass-produced.
CONSTITUTION: A metal layer 102 whose surface is smooth and high in reflectivity is provided onto a substrate 101, and a transparent layer 103 whose surface opposite to the metal layer 102 is rugged is provided to the metal layer 102 to constitute a back reflective layer. A semiconductor 104 is bonded to the lack reflective layer, and a transparent electrode 107 is laminated thereon to form a photovoltaic element. It is preferable that the surface of the bonded semiconductor 104 is rugged as well as the back reflective layer, and the transparent layer 103 is doped with impurities to be enhanced in resistance. One of irregularity forming means is that the surface of a substrate is dipped into acid or alkali or salt water.
