To provide a novel phthalic diamide derivative or its salt which is excellent in insecticidal action.
The phthalic diamide derivative is a compound of formula [I] (wherein X is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group, a 1-6C haloalkyl group, a 1-6C alkoxy group, a 1-6C haloalkoxy group, a cyano group or a nitro group; Z is a halogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group or a 1-6C haloalkyl group; R5 is a halogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group; R1 and R2 are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group; R3 and R4 are each a hydrogen atom, a substituted 1-6C alkyl group, a 2-6C alkenyl group, a 2-6C alkynyl group, a 3-6C cycloalkyl group, a 1-6C alkoxy group or a 7-12C aralkyl group, or NR3R4 group formed from R3, R4 and the adjacent nitrogen atom may be a 3-7C cyclic amino group) or its salt.
