To obtain a phthalocyanine which is used for an org. photoconductive substance in a photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor and has a sensitivity controllable by a simple and easy method at a stage just before the preparation of a coating soln. for forming a photosensitive layer, an electrophotographic photoreceptor prepared by using the same, and a coating soln. contg. the same and for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor.
This phthalocyanine comprises at least one phthalocyanine compd. and exhibits the main diffraction peaks at Bragg angles (2θ±0.2°) of 24.2° and 27.3° in the CuKα X-ray diffraction spectrum and a ratio of peak strength at 24. 2' to that at 27.3° of 0.1-0.25. A phthalocyanine comprising at least one phthalocyanine compd. and exhibiting main diffraction peaks at Bragg angles (2θ±0.2°) of 24.2° and 27.3° in the CuKα X-ray diffraction spectrum is produced by mechanical milling at 60°C or lower in an alcohol solvent.
