Abstract:
To provide a physical quantity detector and a printing device with which it is possible to more reliably and accurately detect the remaining quantity of a detection object.SOLUTION: Provided is a physical quantity detector comprising: a container for accommodating a detection object composed of a dielectric substance; a first electrode arranged on the outside of the container; a second electrode arranged facing the first electrode by being spaced apart therefrom; and a capacitance detection unit for detecting capacitance between the first and second electrodes. The capacitance detection unit includes a waveform generation source connected to the first electrode, and a voltage detection circuit connected to the second electrode. When it is assumed that |Zc| represents the absolute value of input impedance of the capacitance detection unit, |Z1| represents the absolute value of impedance when there exists the detection object between the first and second electrodes, and |Z2| represents the absolute value of impedance when the detection object does not exist between the first and second electrodes, the expression |Zc|/|Z1|+|Zc|>|Zc|/|Z2|+|Zc| is satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
