Abstract:

Compounds of the general formula I in which V<1> and V<2> are identical or different and in each case denote a COOH or group, in which R<6> stands for a straight- or branched-chain alkyl radical having 2 to 7 carbon atoms, which is substituted by 1 to 5 hydroxyl groups and R<7> stands for a hydrogen atom, a straight- or branched-chain alkyl radical having 1 to 7 carbon atoms or an alkyl radical having 2 to 7 carbon atoms, which is substituted by 1 to 5 hydroxyl groups, R<1> denotes a hydrogen atom or a CH2COOH group, R<2> and R<3> denote a (CH2)m group where m denotes 0 or 1 if R<4> and R<5> simultaneously in each case stand for a hydrogen atom, R<4> and R<5> denote a -CH2-CH2-(CH2)m group where m denotes 0 or 1, if R<2> and R<3> simultaneously in each case stand for a hydrogen atom, and their salts with inorganic and/or organic bases or amino acids, are useful complexing agents.
