PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of a pick and place unit by combining function for stopping rotation with sliding function by means of a rectangular slide shaft and a guide piece in the pick and place unit to feed work.

CONSTITUTION: A lever 6 and block 7 interlock with a driving cam fixed to a main body 4, and a slide shaft 8 being of a rectangular section is therefore held between plural guide pieces 9 whose a pair of square portions are fixed to a slide block 10, and is moved back and forth through the tension of a spring 12. A lever 6A interlocks with a block 11, and the slide block 10 is therefore guided by guide pieces 9A between both the slide shafts 8 under the tension of the spring 12. Thus the directions of sliding and rotation of the slide shaft 8 can be similarly controlled in moving back and forth or vertically. Consequently the slide section can be simplified, and moreover the number of parts and their weight can be reduced, and the whole space occupied by the unit also becomes less.
