A picking device includes a pallet unit storage section and a case unit storage section. When a stock quantity P in the case unit storage section is smaller than the total shipping quantity O, a control computer rounds up a quantity of shortage (O-P) to the layer unit quantity of pallets. Cases of a quantity FC in an amount of rounded-up layer quantity F=(O-P)/C (where C is the quantity of cases of one layer amount of pallets) are conveyed from the pallet unit storage section to a depalletizing device by a conveyor line or a forklift truck for depalletization, and then cases of S=P+FC-O are stored in the case unit storage section. Cases of the quantity of shortage (O-P) are shipped, and cases of stock quantity P in the case unit storage section are shipped.
