PURPOSE: To give the conversion and recording to the original picture information by recording the phase of the picture signal read out in the form of the electric signal onto the recording paper with a shift by the expected amount.
CONSTITUTION: The pictures in the form of the original manuscript are arranged regularly and vertically in the main scanning direction as shown in (A), and then read out in the form of the electric signals in the known and proper method to be recorded onto the recording paper. In this case, if the size of the phase shift is varied with every scan, for example, the images different from the original pictures are produced as shown in (B). In this case, if the phase shift is fixed with on cycle defined by m picture lines, the zigzag images are caused as shown in (C). While if the phase shift amount is varied optionally, the converted pictures are given as shown in (D). Thus the original pictures can be coded through the conversion recording, and the picture restoration can be attained easily by reversing the conversion rules.
