Abstract:
To attain picture detection with large gradation by receiving only diffusely reflected light from an object without increasing device size.
This picture inputting device is provided with a light transmitting object 9 between a light source 7 and an object 4, and the object 4 is obliquely irradiated with light beams by making the direction of an optical axis from the light source 7 just before the light transmitting object 9 different from the direction of optical axes from the light transmitting object 9 to the object 4 so that only diffusely reflected light beams from the projecting and recessing parts of the object 4 can be received by a camera 11.
