Abstract:
PURPOSE: To decrease a rounding error of operation for converting resolution and to lighten a burden of a host device.
CONSTITUTION: A command processing device 7 reads out picture data for outputting characters by a printer 5 having different resolution from a host device 20 performing printing indication from a font memory 2 and makes it on a page memory 4. Printing start position information Q (X, Y) using resolution conversion magnification α, β is calculated by the following equation. X = XDP + α (X0 + X1 + X2), Y = YDP + β (Y0 + Y1 + Y2) However, position information of the X direction and the Y direction of a memory use region original point basing on a page memory original point as a reference are made (XDP, YDP), and position information of the X direction and the Y direction of a character output region original point basing on the memory use region original point as a reference are made (X0, Y0). Also, position information of the X direction and the Y direction of a printing position original point basing on the character output region original point as a reference are made (X1, Y1), and printing position offset of the X direction and the Y direction basing on the printing position original point as a reference are made (X2, Y2).
