Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a picture having a natural look by compensating for the video signals so that the luminance of the peripheral section of the picture is continuously reduced and projecting the picture by a video picture projector.
CONSTITUTION: First, the inputted video signals are separated into luminance and synchronization signals by a synchronization signal separating circuit 1. Then, luminance modulation signals are generated by a luminance modulation circuit 2 in synchronization with the separated synchronization signals and the luminance modulation signals are multiplied to the luminance signals by a luminance modulation circuit 3. As a result, luminance signals, which are compensated so that the luminance in the picture peripheral section is continuously reduced, are outputted to a luminance signal amplifying circuit 4. Moreover, the projector is provided with a deflection control circuit 5 and a picture display section (CRT) 6. Since the luminance of the picture peripheral section is continuously reduced, no frame shaped outline is generated in the vicinity of the peripheral of the picture even though the screen surface is dark and a star image projection by a video picture projector is made possible in a planetarium.
