PURPOSE: To take out a jam paper, by constituting a main body with the first and the second bodies and displacing a press-contact controlling member by a holding member of a gap between both bodies to release the press-contact of a pressing member after both bodies are disengaged from each other and are separated.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer paper P subjected to fixing is ejected to the outside of a copying device by a paper ejecting device; but if a defect of feeding of the transfer paper P occurs on a carrying path to generate a jam, an upper body 20 is turned around a branch fulcrum 23 to be lifted, and the inside is opened to perform the work. A stay plate 24 as the gap holding member is attached to a part of the upper body 20 so that one end of the plate 24 can be rotated by a revolving shaft. When one end of the upper body 20 is lifted to open the inside, a pin 36 is fitted to a groove 24B of the stay plate 24 in the final position of this opening, and the upper body 20 is fixed in the open state.
