PURPOSE: To obtain a compact picture tube in which any display reflection is prevented by slanting a fluorescent screen affixed to the inner surface of a bulb from the axis of an electron gun structure, and providing the side wall of the bulb with windows for transmitting light sent from the fluorescent screen.
CONSTITUTION: The fluorescent screen 3 of a picture tube 10 slants from the axis of an electron gun structure 4. The side wall of a bulb slanting from and facing the fluorescent screen 3, is provided with perspective windows 11 for transmitting fluorescent light. The windows 11 are provided in flat form in almost the whole area of the above side wall so that the whole area of the fluorescent screen 3 can be seen homogeneously through the windows 11. The inner surface of the windows 11 is coated with a transparent condutive film 12 to which high voltage is applied. In such a picture tube 10, an electron beam is deflected by a deflecting yoke 15 before being scanned over the fluorescent screen 3. The picture tube 10 is installed in a case 13 in such a manner that the structure 4 is located under a key board 6 and the windows 11 face an opening located obliquely above toward an observer 5, thereby enabling a compact display device to be constituted.
