To provide a piezoelectric actuator which can efficiently amplifies the vibration of a piezoelectric element and is suitable for thickness reduction and a timepiece which uses the actuator.
On the surfaces of a diaphragm 10 and a stator 20 constituting a piezoelectric actuator, an insulating layer 30 is formed and conductors 40a and 40b which connect the diaphragm 10 to a drive circuit 50 are fixed on the insulating layer 30. When the diaphragm 10 vibrates, vibration is transmitted to the stator 20. Since the front end section 21 of the stator 20 is displaced, in addition a rotor which is abutted with the section 21 rotates. Since the conductors 40a and 40b vibrate together with the diaphragm 10 and stator 20 in an integral state, the vibration hardly attenuates. In addition, since the conductors 40a and 40b can be formed in planer shapes along the diaphragm 10 and stator 20, the thickness of the actuator can be reduced.
