In the piezoelectric resonator, first and 2nd resonance electrodes 3 and 4 are formed partially on 1st and 2nd opposite main surfaces 2a and 2b of the piezoelectric body 2, made of lead titanate-base piezoelectric ceramics and the part where the 1st and 2nd resonance electrodes 3 and 4 face each other constitutes an energy-confining type vibration part, and the relation (ρ.t)/T>0.235 is satisfied, where ρ is the specific gravity (g/cm3) of the resonance electrodes, t is thickness (cm), and T is the distance between the 1st and 2nd main surfaces 2a and 2.
