PURPOSE: To obtain a pigment capable of providing a color filter having excellent spectral characteristics, especially a high color purity and transmittance by mixing a specific disazo pigment with a coloring composition pigment for red color.
CONSTITUTION: This pigment is obtained by mixing (A) a disazo pigment prepared by carrying out the mixed coupling of (i) dichlorobenzidine or tetrachlorobenzidine as a tetrazo component with (ii) one or more compounds selected from formula I (R1 to R3 are each H, CH3, OCH3, OC2H5, or Cl) or formula II (R4 is H, CH3, OCH3, Cl, OH or COOC2H5; R5 is H, CH3, OCH3 or COOC2H5) as a main coupler component and (iii) one or more compounds selected from formula III [at least one of R6 and R7 is NH2, X-NR9R9', etc., (X is a direct bond, CO, SO2, etc.; R9 and R9' are each H, a 1-8C alkyl, etc.) and others are H, CH3, OCH3, etc.] or formula IV [at least one of R10 to R12 is SO3H, COOH, COOM (M is a metal, etc.), etc., and the others are H, CH3, OCH3, etc.] with (B) C.I. Pigment Red 177.
