The pigment is represented by the general formula (I) satisfying one or both of the conditions. Condition 1: R1 and R1' are H, an ionic hydrophilic group and a substituent having no OH group. Condition 2: the absolute value of the difference between max (DMF) and max (water) is 50 nm or less. In the formula, Ar1 and Ar1' each represents a univalent aromatic hydrocarbon ring, Ar2, Ar2', Ar3 and Ar3' each represents a bivalent aromatic carbon ring joining group, wherein at least one of Ar1 to Ar3 and Ar1' to Ar3' represents a naphthalene ring. A represents a substituent shown by the general formulae (II) to (IV) or a bivalent or over joining group shown by the general formula (V), R1, R1', R2 and R3 represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, Q represents a bivalent or over joining group and q represents an integer of 2 or more.
