To obtain a pile fabric whose problems regarding feeling, yielding resistance in pile, weight-lightening, the fall of the pile yarn, color phase difference in white blur, polisher property, pilling of pile and the like are solved by adding a fiber consisting of a propylene terephthalate-based polyester to pile yarn.
This pile fabric is made of pile yarn having pile lengths preferably of 60 mm or less and containing fiber (preferably, flat fibers having a cross-sectional flatness ratio of 2-10) consisting of a propylene terephthalate- based polyester. The fiber consisting of a polypropylene terephthalate-based polyester preferably contains at least one kind of a delustering agent selected from a group consisting of titanium dioxide, barium sulfate and zinc sulfide in an amount of 0.1-10 wt.% based on the weight of fiber. The pile fabric is useful as chair cloths, interior cloths for furniture, vehicles or the like, carpets, blankets, man-made leathers or the like.
