PURPOSE: To provide excellent and inexpensive pile fabric rich in hygroscopicity, good in skin touch feeling, and causing no touch feeling deterioration or pile yarn setting even after washed.

CONSTITUTION: The pile fabric with two-layer structure composed of central layer 2 and surface layer 3. In the central layer 2, there are innumerable fine pores 4≤0.1 in diameter communicating with one another over the entire length in the axial direction. These pores 4 also communicate, via other fine pores 5 in the surface layer 3, with the outside. The pile yarns consist of combined yarns made up of acrylic fibers 1≤1.0 in apparent specific gravity and cotton fibers at the weight ratio of (5-7):(5:3). Synergistic effect of the acrylic fibers and cotton fibers provides the objective pile fabric with the above-mentioned advantages.
