PURPOSE: To enable the perfect pinning of a belt-like article by integrally lifting an upper rubber roller, a pulley, a supporting wheel and a brush belt and lowering a lower roller to increase a distance therebetween for the facilitation of a pininsertion operation into the front end lug of the belt-like article.
CONSTITUTION: After a distance between lateral tenter lanes is adjusted, the first air cylinder 22 is operated to lift a pinning device main body comprising an upper rubber roller 28, a pulley 26, a supporting wheel 30 and a brush belt 32, and the lower roller 42 is further lowered with the second air cylinder 60 to enlarge the distance between the upper roller 28 and the first lower roller. The front end portion of an belt-like article is inserted between the upper rubber roller 26 and the second lower roller 42 to penetrate a pin in the front end lug portion of the belt-like article for the catching thereof. The pinning device main body 20 and the second lower roller 42 are returned to the original positions to nip the lug portion of the belt-like article, and the running of a tenter chain is subsequently started.
