PURPOSE: To make the winding thickness of a tape uniform by turning a pipe, also making a truck travel, drawing out the tape of the reel carried on a pipe body external surface coating device for buried pipe body in the ground and others by the tension generated by the turning of the pipe and controlling a braking means according to the reduction of the diameter of the reel.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe 2 to be coated is turned around the shaft center by a turning roller 3 to wind the tape 4 of a tape reel 15 around the pipe 2. The tape 4 is guided by a guide roller 26 holding a tension state between the pipe 2 and the tape reel 15. When the tape 4 is wound due to the turning of the pipe 2 to be coated, the tape reel 15 is turned due to the tension of the tape 4 resulting in the drawing out of the tape 4. synchronized with this winding, a truck 8 travels along the shaft center of the pipe 2. the reduction of the diameter of the tape reel 15 is detected by a contact roller 22 and pivot sensor 23 for controlling an electromagnetic type braking device and keep tape tension at a set value.
