To provide a pipe joint having a leakage preventing valve, which prevents the leakage of fluid to a minimum in dismounting it, and can be easily connected even by a powerless person.

The pipe joint comprises one joint member 13 having a socket portion, and the other joint member 12 having a plug portion to be dismountably fitted in the socket portion. The one joint member 12 has a cylindrical communication keeping portion 17 which projects so as to communicate with its passage aperture portion 16, and is inserted with a pressing portion 62. When the pressing portion 62 has been inserted into the other joint member 13 on the other valve body side from a passage opening portion 56 of the other joint member 13, and presses the other valve body 31 in the opened direction, the end portion of the communication keeping portion 17 is brought into contact with the inside periphery or the opening edge portion of the passage opening portion 56 of the other joint member 13, and the communication between both passages 14, 15 is kept, and also the portion between the portion between the socket and the plug and the passage opening portion 56 of the other joint member is tightly closed.
