To provide a pipe joint for allowing easy and quick completion of connecting work, while easily finding a fastening failure of a fastening and fixing member using a working tool through pressure test, after the connecting work.
The pipe joint comprises a jointing body 1, the cylindrical fastening and fixing member 35 for connecting and fixing a connected pipe 40 inserted into the jointing body 1, to the jointing body 1, a sealing material 8 mounted in a seal storage space A, a back-up ring 10 mounted in the seal storage space A which is thereby changed to be narrower or wider, so as to be movable slightly in an axial center direction L, and a resistance member 7 for holding the fastening and fixing member 35 in an incompletely sealing condition in hand fastening and for switching the fastening and fixing member 35 into a normally sealing condition in fastening with the working tool.
