PURPOSE: To provide a pipe joint which can connect a connected pipe with a normal external thread with an extremely simple operation.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe joint is constituted of a cylinder body 2, a moving pipe 3 inserted in the cylinder body 2 movably in the axial direction, a fixed pipe 4 mounted to the other end part of the cylinder body 2, a spring 36 for energizing the moving pipe toward one end of the cylinder body 2, plural engaging pieces 5 movably disposed around one end part of the cylinder body 2, an operating pipe 6 rotatably mounted on the peripheries of the cylinder body 2 and plural engaging pieces 5, and a cap 7 to be a slip-off stopper for the engaging pieces 5. The moving pipe 3 has a contact face 32, with which the end face of a connected pipe come in airtight contact, at the tip. Plural engaging pieces 5 have internal thread parts 51, corresponding to the external thread of the connected pipe, at the inner peripheries, and the operating pipe 6 has a cam face 64 for pressing the engaging pieces 5 in the diameter contracting direction, at the inner periphery corresponding to the engaging pieces 5.
