Abstract:
To provide a backlight with improved brightness quality.
A light-leak preventing member 25 is arranged for preventing leakage of light irradiated on a light guide plate from a light-emitting diode 3. Light irradiated on the light guide plate 5 from the light-emitting diode 3 is reflected or shielded by the light-leak preventing member 25 to prevent the diffusion of the light irradiated from the light-emitting diode 3 to the light guide plate 5. Enough brightness is secured and brightness unevenness can be restrained by effectively utilizing light from the light-emitting diode 3 to improve brightness quality of the backlight 1.
