Abstract:

To provide an AC driven plasma discharge display device of matrix type capable of reducing the power consumption and establish a method of manufacturing such display devices.

A first 1 and a second substrate 2 are positioned oppositely, and a first electrode group 21 consisting of a plurality of first discharge electrodes 11 is formed on the first substrate 1 while a second electrode group 21 consisting of a plurality of second discharge electrodes 12 is formed on the second substrate 2, and chiefly a plasma discharge display due to cathode glow discharge is conducted.
