The invention provides a planetary roller speed reducer which prevents backlash and which prevents reduction of a transmission force resulted from roller abrasion. The planetary roller speed reducer is provided with a mechanism which enables a rotational speed to transmit a rational motion in a slow down manner from an input shaft to an output shaft. The planetary roller speed reducer comprises a solar roller connected to the input shaft, an outer roller connected to the output shaft, a plurality of planetary rollers configured at the periphery of the solar roller, a shell and a cover; and the outer roller accommodates the solar roller and the planetary rollers, the solar roller, the outer roller and the planetary roller are accommodated in a space formed by the shell and the cover, each planetary roller is provided with a rotary shaft to an end portion of which a support part is fixed, each planetary roller is configured to be capable of rotating around the corresponding rotary shaft, the support parts are fixed to the cover, the support parts are orthogonal with the central axes of the planetary rollers, and the rigidity of a first direction from the central axes of the planetary rollers to the central axis of the solar roller is less than the rigidity of a second direction orthogonal with the central axes of the planetary rollers and the first direction.
