To provide a planographic printing method requiring no development, substantially forming a printing surface by applying imagewise exposure to an original plate, good in inking properties and reduced in printing staining at the time of printing, excellent in printing durability and capable of repeatedly using the printing original plate, and planographic printing apparatus capable of making the printing plate on a printing press.
In the planographic printing method, a layer of a hydrophobic substance is imagewise applied to the printing original plate having a layer containing a hydrophilic and oleophilic material to form an image region, and the treatment with a hydrophilicity enhancer is applied to the original plate to enhance the hydrophilicify of a non-image region to form a printing plate surface to perform printing. After printing is completed, ink is washed off and the erasure of history is performed by the application of heat or the irradiation with light to enable the reuse of the printing original plate.
