Title:
PLASMA ARC TYPE MELTING FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3643773
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma arc type melting furnace capable of melting efficiently and reducing damage of a fire-resisting wall due to melting.
SOLUTION: Three main electrodes 3 for plasma electrodes and one furnace bottom electrode 4 are arranged inside the furnace main body 2 of a melting furnace 1. The main electrodes 3 are arranged apart from one another and hung from the upper part. A furnace bottom electric current 4 is arranged roughly at the center of a triangle with the main electrodes 3 as apexes. The main electrodes 3 and the furnace bottom electrode 4 are connected with direct- current power supply equipment (not shown in Fig.) respectively. When the electric current is passed between the electrodes, the burned ash inside the furnace main body 2 is melted by plasma heat generation and the Joule heat generation in slag. Upflow is caused by a plasma jet and the blown slag flow. Since the burned ash is thrown in the intermediate part of the main electrodes 3 having a high temperature, downflow is caused to perform melting inside a liquid.
