To provide a plasma display panel (PDP) configured to suppress degradation of visibility and having a front panel on which electrodes in the form of thin films are arranged, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.

The plasma display panel includes two substrates 10, 20 opposed to each other, wherein a plurality of pairs of electrodes 12 and a dielectric layer 13 are formed in succession on one of the substrates, i.e., on the substrate 10, such that the dielectric layer 13 covers the pairs of electrodes 12. Electrodes 121, 122 that make up each of the pairs of electrodes 12 respectively include reflection-preventing layers 121a, 122a, first layers 121b, 122b, and second layers 121c, 122c that are stacked in this order on the substrate 10. The reflection-preventing layers 121a, 122a are predominantly composed of a material lower in reflectivity than the material of the first layers 121b, 122b.
