To provide a plasma display panel manufacturing method for sufficiently burning impurities between a front substrate and a back substrate for easy exhaustion in a sealing step of pasting the front substrate and the back substrate to each other.
The plasma display panel manufacturing method comprises the sealing step of sealing the front substrate 10 and the back substrate 20 arranged opposing each other. In the sealing step, a seal part 30 mainly containing low-melting-point glass is formed inside the outermost periphery of a portion where the front substrate 10 and the back substrate 20 are laid one on top of the other, so as to be held between the front substrate 10 and the back substrate 20. The seal part 30 is held between the front substrate 10 and the back substrate 20 at a position outside a position where its contacts the front substrate 10 and the back substrate 20, to form a space between the front substrate 10 and the back substrate 20. With the seal part 30 melted by heating the front substrate 10 and the back substrate 20 up to a high temperature, the front substrate 10 and the back substrate 20 are sealed to each other.
