Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-refractive index plastic lens having excellent light transmissivity, impact resistance, wear resistance, and dyeability by adding a polymn. initiator to polyurethane polyacrylate and specific monomer. CONSTITUTION:The monomer mixture composed of 40-90pts.wt. urethane poly(meth)acrylate A, 10-60pts.wt. monomer expressed by the formula I and 0.01-5pts. wt. polymn. initiator per 100pts.wt. A+B component is cast into a casting mold; thereafter, the mixture is heated in a hot air stove or is polymerized and cured by irradiation of UV rays in the presence of the photopolymn. initiator, by which the plastic lens material is produced. The material having a high refractive index is selected as the urethane poly(meth)acrylate. The monomer B plays the role as a reactive diluent of the urethane poly(meth)acrylate A which is an essential component. The light transmissivity, impact resistance, wear resistance, and dyeability are improved and the high refractive index is obtd. by using said materials.
