Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a protecting film and a plastic lens polishing method using this protecting film keeping the plastic lens from being flawed, desirably enabling the sufficient relaxation and dispersion of stress applied to plastic base material at the polishing time while having excellent adhesive property to a block layer.
CONSTITUTION: Plastic base material 1 fixed to a polishing fitting plate 6 through a protecting film layer and a low melting point alloy layer 5 is polished to obtain a plastic lens. The protecting film layer is formed of a water soluble adhesive layer 2, a water-soluble and flexible first protecting layer 3, and a water-soluble second protecting layer 4 with adhesion to the low melting point alloy layer 5. The protecting film layer and the low melting point alloy layer 5 can be removed by washing after polishing the plastic base material. The first protecting layer 3 is formed of polyvinyl alcohol as the main component, and the second protecting layer 4 is formed of polyvinyl pyrolidone as the main component.
