To obtain a plastic-made bathtub that can inhibit contaminants from adhering thereto and prevent fungi, bacteria, or the like, from proliferating by allowing the bathtub to carry a hydrophilic inorganic oxide on its surfaces.
(A) A hydrophilic inorganic oxide and preferably (B) an antifungal agent are allowed to carry on the surfaces of a bathtub to give the objective bathtub. As the component (A), is cited at least one selected from the group consisting of aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, silicon oxide, cerium oxide and yttrium oxide. The bathtub is prepared by coating a mold for bathtub with the component (A) and the component (B) to form the layers, then (C) a termosetting resin composition is injected into the mold so that the resultant layers may be transferred to the face of (C) the thermosetting resin. Metal salts, for example, of silver, 2(4-thiazolyl)benzimidazole (thiabendazole), or the like, is used as the component (B).
