To provide a high performance plastics substrate for a display device of which the weight and thickness are easily reduced, which has high impact strength, is excellent in flatness and in an adhesion property to an ITO (indium tin oxide) electrode, is easily manufactured and is low-cost and further is excellent in a gas barrier property and a method for efficiently manufacturing the same.
The plastics substrate for the display device is characterized by making at least a layer of a film with an oxygen barrier property under low humidity stand between films with a steam barrier property. Preferably, the steam barrier film is composed of a material with ≤2 g/m2.day steam permeability for 100 μm at 25°C and ≥90% humidity and the oxygen barrier film under low humidity is composed of a material with ≤1 cc/m2.atm.day oxygen permeability for 100 μm at 25°C and ≤60% humidity.
