PURPOSE: To improve the antenna performance by providing a waveguide structure to a backside of a ground plane. CONSTITUTION: The flat plate antenna is made up of a ground plane, radiation elements whose impedance is in matching with that of a feeder, and a waveguide for sending a signal to a network layer. Specifically, a power distribution network layer 15 is coupled with a probe 20 placed at a mid feeding point and the probe 20 at a connection part of the mid feeding point is connected to the layer 15 through a hole made to the ground plane 10 at the single feed point. Furthermore, the probe 20 is connected to a 1/4 wavelength transition part 40A, which is connected to a distribution network 40B printed on the layer 15. The length of the probe 20 is selected properly to be tuned to a required frequency and mode suppression walls 30 placed in parallel with each other at both sides of the probe 20. One wall of the waveguide 100 is configured by the plane 10 itself and the other three walls are configured by metallic pieces connected to the rear side of the plane 10, and a propagation path at an output of the waveguide 100 is folded by an angle of 90 deg..
