To propose platemaking equipment and printing equipment which enable reduction of a fault of an image while having low-cost and simple constitutions.

In the platemaking equipment 3 wherein a thermal master 34 is subjected to platemaking with heating by a platen roller 36 driven to rotate by a driving source 102 and by a thermal head 37 being contactable with the roller, the speed of rotation of the platen roller 36 is regulated by controlling the drive of the driving source 102 on the basis of the amount of displacement of the outside diameter of the platen roller estimated by a displacement amount estimating means 88 which estimates the amount of displacement, using as one of parameters the data on the image subjected to platemaking by the thermal head 37.
