CONSTITUTION: In a plate material work device to work a plate material on a line, a measuring part to measure a plate material dimension is arranged on the line, and a work part is arranged to correct plate material work at any time according to this measured plate material dimension, and the measuring part is a dimension measuring device C which can measure an edge part shape and a dimension of the plate material, and the work part is formed as a chamfering device D, and performs the plate material work by moving in a cutting part in response to the plate material edge part shape and the dimension. Plate material transfer stations A and E and plate material carrying-in and carrying-out devices 2 and 6 are arranged on the respective upstream end and downstream end of the plate material work line, and plural carriages 1 and 5 to place the plate material on these transfer stations are arranged, and the respective carriages are constituted so as to be switched to a transfer position (a) and a retreat position (b).
