PURPOSE: To improve the yield by forming a bead tip part and a bead peripheral part on the arc respectively, and joining the respective arcs with other parts at the position of the bead height shorter than the respective radii of curvature to suppress damages of a plate itself associated with the forming of the bead part and damages on the surface to the minimum.

CONSTITUTION: A punch 8 is pressed up by a cylinder rod 11, and a work l is held by a female die of an upper die 6 to be pressed. Because the work 1 is restricted by the upper die 6 and a lower die 7, the part between the parts held by the dies is formed so as to be along the shape of the upper die 6 while being extended by the punch 8. The arc parts formed on the bead tip part and the bead peripheral part are joined with the other part, i.e., the arc or the flat part at the position in the direction of the bead height shorter than the respective radii of curvature. The sliding of work 1 to be due to enlongation is hordy occured, and generation of damages on the surface can be prevented.
