PURPOSE: To provide a plate for a separator for continuously seizing and separating threads held in an array.

CONSTITUTION: This plate 10 is provided with a leading edge 12 and one or two recesses 13 and 14 having a hook formed in the leading edge 12. The recessed 13 and 14 having the hook have a greater depth than a half of the width of the recesses in the direction of movement of the plate 10. A fender edge 16 extends between the tip 17 of the hook and the leading edge 12 at 15-90° relative to the direction of movement of the plate 10. The tip 17 of the hook is formed so as to be rounded with a radius of up to 10% of the width of the recesses 13 and 14.
