To provide a plate storage rack wherein side plates can be easily moved in parallel, a storage width can be easily varied according to a change or the like in a width of a plate and the plate can be securely fixed.

The plate storage rack 1 comprises a pair of opposite upper and lower face plates 2, fixed plate-holding side plates 3 which are placed between the upper and lower face plates at an interval and formed with a plate engaging groove 4 for engaging a plurality of plates on an internal surface and movable plate-holding side plates 5 which can move in an opposite direction to the fixed side plates and formed with a plate engaging groove on an internal surface. Two rack gears are provided in parallel along a moving direction of the movable side plate on respective opposite surfaces of the upper and lower face plates. Two rotary shafts 9 which couple two opposite gears on the upper and lower or on the right and left of a gear engaged with the rack gear are rotatably placed in parallel on an opposite surface to the fixed side plate on the movable side plate, while the two rotary shafts are synchronously rotated via a coupling member.
