Title:
PLATE-TYPE FLUORESCENT LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60227348
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a plate-type fluorescent lamp which can be easily manufactured and gives no visual sense of incompatibility by arranging glass bulbs, which have an almost fan-like cross section and the inner surface of which is coated with a phosphor, in such a manner as to alternately invert the shape of their cross section and fusing the openings of each pair of adjacent connection tubes.

CONSTITUTION: After a phosphor 8 is applied to the inner surface of a glass bulb 7 having a fan-like cross section and a given length, the glass bulb 7 is sintered. Then, an electrode stem 9 is fused to one end of the glass bulb 7 and a connection tube 10 is fused to the other end to prepare an electrode bulb 11. Next, connection tubes 10 are fused to the ends of the glass bulb 7 to prepare a junction bulb 12. Next, after thus prepared electrode bulbs 11 and junction bulbs 12 are alternately placed with their cross section inverted, each pair of adjacent connection tubes 10 are thrusted against each other and fused. After that, usual exhaustion and gas charging are performed through exhaust tubes 13, thereby completing a plate-type fluorescent lamp.
