PURPOSE: To provide a plate type heat exchanger in which a gasket can be simply and effectively fixed to a heat transfer plate.

CONSTITUTION: A plate type heat exchanger has a plurality of heat transfer plates laminated through gaskets mounted in a gasket groove 4 formed over an entire periphery of a peripheral edge, and comprises a gasket having connecting pieces 44 integrally protruding at a suitable interval at a side of a gasket body 13 mounted in the groove, and a gasket connecting piece 44 disposed, in place, at a non-liquid contact side near the groove of the plate. The exchanger has a fixing piece 45 to be connected to the connecting piece of the gasket to removably connect the gasket connecting piece to the fixing piece.
